The Average Expenditure on Weddings in the UK has Fallen

Research says that the average wedding expenditure has gone down by 1.3% from £17,913 in previous years to £17,674 at present. Good news for the new couples who want to get married. Congratulations in advance.


According to the experts the reasons for the drop are:

  1. Increasing in number of the suppliers;
  2. Savvy planning and
  3. Current economic climate (Brexit)


Report also suggests:

  1. Fewer couples like to marry in a place of worship;
  2. 67% wedding took place in a wedding venue (That's up by 7%);
  3. These reduce the cost of florists, music, transportation etc

The research suggests the costs:

  1. Highest cost is on the venue £6.5K
  2. 2nd highest is on food £5K+
  3. Honeymoon £Varies on destination and duration (£4.5K+ average)
  4. The number of guest has gone down to 80 this year from 90 previous years
